Soon after arriving in the besieged city, Moth was struck by a sniper's bullet as she drove with colleagues to the Sarajevo airport to interview pilots flying relief supplies. Her jaw was shattered, and she lost nearly all of her teeth and part of her tongue. Moth was rushed to a local hospital for emergency surgery and then flown to the United States where she endured numerous reconstructive surgeries.

After recuperating, Moth returned to her position at CNN.

I just saw the CNN documentary about Margaret Moth as well. Wonderful! Wonderful! I was also completely blown-away by the guitar solo during the roll of credits at end of the presentation. How can I find the music credits? I want to hear more from that guitarist.

I am also not sure whether this is the correct avenue, however I too would like to hear from her if she is well enough, (64 3 318 1373), in any case I send her my regards and wish her well. I haven't seen the CNN documentary. I was her parachuting pilot at Taieri, Dunedin, NZ, probably about 1975. She was an amazing young woman then. I too have had cancer and fully sympathies with her and am thinking of her.

Typical of Amanpour to turn the story around to be about herself -- all that histrionic drivel about "If I had let her shooting prevent me from going to the danger zone, I'd never have had the career I've had" (visibly composes herself)... what an absurdly bloated ego.

Margaret is one of the most inspiring people I have ever heard about. Such courage, passion for life, and inner strength, combined with a great love for animals is very unique and comes from a higher place. She has inspired me in many ways. I respect her, but Russian journalists go out of their way all the time (and get shot). If only American TV viewers paid less attention to eye candy and more attention to content, then the "Hardball" and "Situation Room" and other self-promoting names would not be as popular.

This documentary should be compulsary viewing in all schools all around the world as an example how to lead your life. In today's rotten world of greed, lies and dishonesty it is so inspirational to hear stories like this. I loved when she said that she is not religious yet she would shame many so called believers with her values and way she led her life. Fantastic.

Dear Margau, U said: " Life is like a tennis game, U cannot control the way the ball is tossed at U...all U can do, is control the way U hit it back." U also mention that it did not matter to U whether 6 months or 20 years was a final call, because U felt not afraid since U felt U had taken enough from Life, not feeling panicked as would had U had a "boring" life...Dear Margau, in Ur country the Mauri have sayings for the Brave, and so are such sayings among Amerindian Nations, from the South, East, West and North. U say U got angry when people compared U to a daredevil, because U say U always took care not to jeopardize Ur life, nor that of Ur colleagues...Dear Margau, I thank the Great Spirit for allowing such Spirits as Urs teach us All some sense in doing the right thing, sometimes the least conventional way, because it is within us All, to commit the right thing, as each one of us is responsible for safety of the many. I wish U well, Sister of Humankind, I wish U well, be at Peace with the Great Spirit, for a smile accompanies U. Alexander Swirski, from Copenhagen, Denmark

I have the greatest respect for you, especially because you do not believe in that kind of superstition commonly called religion; and because you live your life the way you think is right for you regardless of the opinion of others. I am a teenage girl living in Saudi Arabia and I had just seen the story on Moth's life.. I am very touched by her courage and extraordinary strength in facing hardships. She exudes bravery, originality and spirit. I love what she said in the end of the film.. Something along the lines of life being like a game of tennis, where you will always have a ball coming at you, but what matters is how you return the ball back. Ah, I wish I had written it down! You've inspired me Margaret and many others.. and that is surely something that wil live on. :)

Margaret Moth have the "just do it" attitude encrypted in her. She is happy with herself, embraced things and events in life with truthfulness. I remembered watching her FEARLESS documentary about her life as a Journalist. The last thing she have said, stay foot in my mind. "It's not a matter of how long you live". And I started to question myself, have I done the things I wanted to do in life yet? Thank you Margaret.

I have just watched Margaret's story on the programme Sunday (NZ), wiping tears from my cheeks. Her courage makes me proud to be a Kiwi, "KIA KAHA" (be strong) Margaret.

I wish I could spend a day with you. I have worked in TVNZ News and Current Affairs as a camerawoman too. People like you and Brian Brake really inspire me, thank you so much for sharing your life, it really does help so much to know there are other NZ'ers out there breaking barriers in our industry. Is there a book in wind?

Margaret, Your story is truly an inspiration to me. By your story, I have been able to reach within myself, and draw out the strength that is inside me, and rise above a sad marriage, and a place of low self esteem and self pity. I am getting stronger each day, and you are truly my inspiration! God bless!

Skydiving was your other love. You introduced it to me in Dunedin. I failed. You are an awesome woman and I am priviliged to know you. Rocky Horror Picture Show is in my library, but I cant bring myself to walk barefoot through fresh cowpats. You are forever in my thoughts

I am in awe of Margaret Moth. I'd never known of her until I went online, routinely and CNN is my home page. I was struck by her picture, her fascinating eyes. I tuned in to the video and saw part of the documentary and now I can't get enough of her. I wish I could have spent one minute with her. Her words will always be with me.What a heroic woman. And fun.

At long last, I've found a real Wonder Woman on whom I can set my sails. There really is nothing to be afraid of, is there, as long as we can take the plunge. Thank you for the lesson, Margaret. RIP.
